diy: quoteable

It's been a really busy weekend.
So busy, that I just took my computer out of my bag from FRIDAY!!  I'm about 350 posts behind on Google Reader.  That's why there's been a lack of pins and comments out there in the internet world, sorry friends.

But, I didn't want you to get to Monday morning and not have anything to read!  Last Thursday night, I got in touch with my crafty side and did a DIY project I've been planning for a while!

Inspired by this quote, also seen here

and these adorable ideas from Pinterest

I decided to make my own white on white canvas with that wonderful Emerson quote!

I bought a 12x16 canvas with 3 inch cardboard letters (all the wood ones were too big/weird looking), all at Michael's, for $15.00.  Such an inexpensive project!

I had to buy two packs of letters to get enough of them.  I measured them out and drew pencil lines to make sure the words were straight and then pasted them on.  The letters were self-adhesive, so I thought that would be enough, but unfortunately on the canvas they didn't stick well.  I pulled out my hot glue gun, (didn't burn myself!) and made sure those letters weren't goin' anywhere!

And then I erased the pencil lines!
The letters are white glitter, and I was going to spray paint the whole thing in white, but it's so light anyway, and I kind of like the sparkle!

So here's the finished project:

What do you think?!  Do you like the glitter or should I spray it over like in the other picture?!

Seriously, this was a really fun project and so easy, and the best part is it's the perfect addition to a room--and so perfect to customize!

So, how were your weekends?

Have a marvelous Monday!!
