wine-ing & dine-ing

It has been a very busy week!  I know you've been hearing that from me a lot lately, but I promise, it really has been!  Thursday and Friday were the Jewish holidays, which are really important to me, so I took the time to really reflect and enjoy time with family (and cook a little bit!)

And then Friday night, my mom and I went up to Disney because I had another race to run this weekend!  My friend Stephanie and I did the Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon Relay on Saturday night.  This race is so unique and so much fun!  So, the 13.1 miles of the half is split between two runners who run 4.8 and 8.3 miles, respectively.  The race starts at 10pm and ends in Epcot at the International Food and Wine Festival, complete with lots of yummy treats and drinks!!

I did the second half (8.3 miles) much faster than I expected and finished it in an hour and 50 minutes!  My average pace was 13.3 min/mile, and this race was SO MUCH FUN!  I got to run through Disney's Hollywood Studios, the Boardwalk, and into Epcot over the finish line.  There is seriously no better feeling than crossing that Finish Line and getting the medal.  It's the reason I continually do these races!

Now I'm PUMPED for the next half-marathon I'm signed up for -- Disney's Princess Half in February!  Can you say three-peat!!

I never ever thought I'd be a runner and do half marathons (even though I walk some of it too!) and now I am and I do!

What do you do that you never thought you would?  Have you ever done a race of any kind?!   Tell me about it!!

Congrats!! Disney races are such a blast!! I did the Princess 1/2 this past year and I had lots of friends running last night! Plus- my boy toy was manning the lighting booth at the last bend before you crossed the finish line :P Hope you had so much fun!! Great pace too! :)

L'shana tova!

I don't run, but I have thought about it. Running through Disney however, that might be a fun thing to do:)
